GENERAL
- What is Jazz Open Modena?
The Jazz Open Modena is a music festival that will take place from 12 to 18 July 2016. The two terms, “Jazz” and “Open,” reflect the festival’s central musical orientation: jazz, as the core and fundamental part of the festival, stands alongside related musical genres such as blues, soul, rock, and pop on an equal footing. The festival in Modena is an extension of the parent festival in Stuttgart, which has existed since 1994. The organiser and founder is jazzopen Italia s.r.l..
- When will the Jazz Open Modena line-up be announced?

- Are there waiting lists for concerts that are already sold out?
No, there are no waiting lists.
- Are there any age-related admission restrictions?
Children under 3 years of age are not allowed to enter the venue. Children between 3 and 6 years of age are admitted free of charge without seating entitlement. Children between 3 and 13 years of age may only attend the concerts if accompanied by a person with legal guardianship or a parent/guardian. Teenagers between 14 and 17 years of age are permitted to attend concerts until 24:00 hrs without the escort of a person with parental authority and with the permission of their parents. Furthermore, the Youth Protection Act applies.

- At what time can I enter the grounds?
The Jazz Open Modena is an 7-day festival at several venues.
Each venue has its own opening hours. You will find these here shortly. - Can I enter the grounds at any time?
As long as you have a valid ticket, you can enter the grounds at any time during general opening hours.
- When do the events end?

The main venue on Piazza Roma has 3 entrances.

We will publish the scheduled performance times on our website in good time. Please note that these are not final and may still change up until the performance. - Will the performance times of each artist be available in advance?
Yes, the scheduled times when which artist will perform are noted on the line-up page. Please note that the actual performance time may vary. The best way to get up-to-date information on performance times as well as info on spontaneous changes is via our social media channels on Instagram and Facebook.
What am I allowed to bring with me?
- What is the rule for cameras?
Professional photographers must apply for accreditation via our website. The application form will open a few weeks before the Jazz Open Modena.
(Professional) video cameras or cameras are not allowed. - May I bring a bag or backpack with me?
Bags and backpacks may be brought onto the festival grounds as long as they do not exceed a size of of DIN A4 format when fully packed. Please note that bag size and contents will be checked at the entrance. We therefore generally recommend that you do not bring larger bags to the grounds.
- Can I bring an umbrella?
Normal umbrellas are not allowed, but you can bring foldable umbrellas.
- Can I distribute/hang up posters or flyers at the festival?
Hanging up posters and/or distributing flyers on the festival grounds is not permitted.
HEALTH & SAFETY
- Will there be water at the festival?
Water can be purchased at various stalls.
- Is the festival barrier-free?
All festival venues are wheelchair accessible. For people in wheelchairs, we have arranged a separate seating quota. At the Piazza Roma concerts, there is a raised wheelchair platform. Tickets can only be obtained at the onlie ticket shop.
- Will there be barrier-free toilets? (Piazza Roma)
Yes, wheelchair accessible toilets are available at Piazza Roma. These are properly signposted on site.
- Are prams allowed on the festival grounds? (Piazza Roma)
No, prams are not allowed on the festival grounds.
PAYMENT
- How can I pay at the festival?
The Jazz Open Modena are a cashless festival, i.e. free of cash (paper money). You can make all payments cashless with Apple Pay, Google Pay etc. and with contactless cards (EC/credit cards).
- Does this mean that I can only pay with Mastercard?
No, cashless includes various debit and credit cards as well as your cards stored digitally via app.
- Can I pay with cash?
No, the festival is a cashless festival. For all those who do not have a debit/credit card, we offer Mastercard x Jazz Open prepaid cards with a credit balance of €20. These cards give you a 20% discount on food, drinks and merchandise. These cards can be purchased at the festival site for €20 and then topped up as often as you like with an individual credit balance.

GENERAL
- Where can I buy tickets for the Jazz Open Modena?

We offer tickets in the following categories:

Business tickets - Can I sit in the standing room area?
No, unfortunately there are no seating options there. You are not permitted to bring seating with you. However, as an alternative, we also offer seating tickets at our concerts.
- I am unable to attend (sick, injured, other appointment...) - can I return my tickets?
No, tickets are generally excluded from the right of cancellation and return (all information can be found in the general terms and conditions here). However you can pass on your tickets via our ticket system or resell them there.
- Can I resell my ticket?
The commercial resale of tickets is prohibited. Private resale is only permitted for the same price (face value) or lower, you can resell directly through our ticket system.
- Are there single day passes for several stages?
No, we only sell passes in the business category for the entire period of the Altes Schloss, the entire period of the Schlossplatz or for the entire festival period in the standing area category (Schlossplatz, Altes Schloss, SpardaWelt Eventcenter, BIX).
ORDERING & SHIPPING
- How many tickets can I purchase with one order?
A maximum of 8 tickets can be purchased per order.
- Will I receive a confirmation email for my purchase in the Jazz Open online shop?
Yes, you will always receive a confirmation email to the email address you provided. Please also check your spam folder. If you have not received an order confirmation, you have not placed a valid order.
- My friends have already received their passes/tickets. My order was placed at the same time, but I have not received it yet. When should I start making enquiries?
It can take up to four weeks for the shipment to be put together and sent out. Only then can we assume that the mail has been lost. We ask for your patience.
- My address has changed during the order process. How can I update it?

- What happens if my order was sent to the wrong address or was sent back to the sender?
In this case, we can resend the tickets to you. Alternatively, you can change your order to digital tickets. Please contact us at jazzopen[at]opus.live.
- What does it mean when the Jazz Open online shop shows "No tickets available" or "Currently not available"?
In this case, tickets for this concert are no longer available for purchase via the online shop. As we cannot guarantee if or when tickets will become available again, you will have to find out yourself via our ticket shop. We do not maintain a waiting list for sold-out concerts.
- Are Viagogo, Facebook or ebay (classifieds) e.g. official ticket sellers?
No, these platforms are not official partners of the Jazz Open. We expressly warn against buying tickets offered via these platforms.
